POLICIES REGARDING STUDENTS’ USE OF
PRODUCTION FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

Students receive access to the Studio A only when their professor emails Ray Tracy or Todd Gillespie and provides them with the professor's name, course name and number, and the names of all students in the course that may need this unit's services. The professor and students must meet with either Ray Tracy or Todd Gillespie prior to the actual use of Studio A to go over what their needs are. Exceptions to this rule can only occur with prior approval.

A class using Studio A must leave the facility in the condition it was in when the group entered it at the beginning of their class. Any equipment or chairs moved by the instructor or students must be returned to the position they were in at the beginning of the class session.

Any damage to equipment or the facility will be charged to the department using Studio A unless said damage was caused by a staff member of Instructional Resources.

The professor and/or a staff member of Video Services must be present at all times when a class is in session in Studio A. No production or pre-production work can be done in Studio A without the presence of a TS staff member. Exceptions to this rule can only by made by Ray Tracy and/or Todd Gillespie.

Students have access to the following in Studio A: All equipment must be reserved in advance by students:

  • 3 studio cameras
  • 1 overhead camera
  • Teleprompters on two of the studio cameras
  • internet and computer hookup for Powerpoint
  • 5 RF lab mics, 1 RF hand-held mic, 4 overhead shotgun mics
  • White board
  • Blue/Green screen for chromakey in Post-Production
  • Audio playback in either CD or Cassette formats
  • Video playback in DVCAM, MiniDV, Betacam and/or VHS.
